Greetings from the Executive Director (December 2021)
I want to personally thank every one of you who made a donation during our 50th Anniversary Breakfast celebration.
For 50 years, the Senior Center has been listening to the needs of the West Seattle community and has adapted our programs to be relevant and responsive to our members as they age. Your support helps us to continue to pivot and be creative in providing programs and services that will ensure seniors won’t be isolated this coming winter.
We are currently offering more than 45 programs and services, everything from exercise and wellness programs to health services, social clubs, and classes. We invite you to come join us!
I also want to thank the planned giving donors who included us in their estate plans over the years. These are donors who, along with S365 Consulting+Design and our Board of Directors, are ensuring our building refresh can happen.
Planned gifts are special because they are a statement of a person’s values. When a donor’s passion matches the mission of our organization and they leave a gift to us in their estate plans, it is the most meaningful gift the Senior Center can receive.
As we head into the holiday season, I’m grateful to be leading this organization. I’m very proud of our staff and volunteers. It’s an incredibly fun time to be a senior in West Seattle because of their commitment and creativity.
Happy Holidays,
Amy Lee Derenthal
